A butterfly’s markings protect it from predators that might eat it. But here’s a butterfly that you can make that’s supposed to be eaten. You’ll need:

Large Gumdrops
Small Pretzel Twists
Licorice "Strings"

Table Knife

1. For the body, cut two slits in the top of the gumdrop.

2. Then, press a pretzel twist into each slit to make wings.

3. To create antennae, poke two holes in the gumdrop in the "head" area, and insert a 1-in. piece of licorice in each.

4. Eat and enjoy!
